What both, the gaming industry and the hospitality sector do have in common is: They boast with creative minds from different walks of life and aim to do one thing – create emotions. LOCAL.LOOTS is the essence of the best of both worlds, the gaming, and the hospitality industry: An emotional hotspot brought to life by the humans who spend their time with each other there.

With Franconia being famous for its vegetables, fruits, and herbs in general and the Nürnberg region for garlic, potatoes & onions in particular, we have a vast variety of excellent products to choose from.

Focussing on locally sourced products does not limit our food offer or kitchen style to „local cuisine only“. It inspires & challenges us to look at each ingredient in a different way. Who says, that a German kraut cabbage has to be prepared the traditional Bavarian way? Why not introduce it to the flavors of India or the Horn of Africa?

Not at HandyGames. Our fellow developers, artists, producers, QAs and other specialists actually love to cook at home, discover new flavours and to share well-balanced and tasty meals. And are eager to refill their “stamina & health points” after another round in our in-house gym. You started your day with a session of power yoga or lifting the barbells in our “machine room”? Time to lift YOU up with a fresh shot of homemade smoothies.

The original vintage APE parked right in the middle of the social area is THE meeting spot for all caffeine addicts, espresso afficionados and tea connaisseurs.

Indulge in nostalgia, when our very own FAEMA 61 portafilter machine huffs and puffs whilst drawing your perfect “godshot” of an espresso.

Can´t spell “Team” without “tea” – Choose your favourite from our seasonal tea menu, including herbal & fruity teas from locally foraged ingredients and even homemade special blends.

Of course there´s also homemade ice teas, lemonades & infused water for those, craving a cold drink after a hot curry.

Why open a restaurant at all? Isn´t that a lot of work and cost?

Whilst a workplace located in the middle of a vibrating city offers each individual the chance to choose from a wide variety of food offers during breaks or lunchtime, the remote location of HandyGames´ headquarters offers many other advantages. Yet, new inspirations during lunchbreak in a fancy & freshly opened new dining location and a buzzing culinary scene surrounding the HQ are not among them.

So, if the prophet can´t come to the mountain… HandyGames brings the vibrant atmosphere of a global city´s ever-changing food scene to their offices.

LOCAL.LOOTS is more than just a restaurant. It´s the social nucleus of our HandyGames HQ and the heartbeat of our family.

It´s where projects are born and discussed during meetings in a comfy atmosphere, where epic MAGIC!-battles take place with a snack and a homemade iced tea next to the card deck.

Our social hub does not only fuel your body with healthy eats but also your brain with new impulses and regular “rations of inspo”.

There´s ample opportunity to (dis)connect and discover new things at LOCAL.LOOTS. Our regular after-work activities include amongst others:

  • Cookery sessions and classes (from knife skills master classes to sushi sessions, and “how tos” like deboning fish or poultry, preparing homemade spice blends or marinades, curry quests and much more)
  • Barista workshops: Master the steam-breathing dragon – our very own vintage FAEMA61 portafilter machine and learn more about different brewing methods and coffee, whilst sipping on a lovely little & fragrant brew
  • Talks & keynote speeches to inspire – whether it´s topics from the gaming industry or different areas of life
